Possible Revolutionary Patriot Ancestors of Virginia Antoinette Brown

Pedigree of my Great-grandmother Virginia Brown:

• John Black: "In the Revolutionary War he was in the command of General William Campbell at the Battle of King's Mountain and was with him at the treaty made with the Creek Indians at Long. Island, TN." "He was in the capacity of Cavalry soldier under General William Campbell in fighting the British." "He served as private under Brig. Gen. William Campbell at Kings Mountain." SAR P-115459; DAR A010649 Overseer of Road, Montgomery Co.,1781.

• Samuel Black: "Served as lieutenant, 1778, in Capt. Robert McCreary's Company, Virginia troops." SAR P-115484; DAR A018660 "2nd Lt, Capt. McCreary, Augusta Co. VA Mili.

John Ross: I do not believe the John Ross identified in the Abstract of Graves of Revolutionary Patriots is this John Ross. The John Ross in U.S., Revolutionary War Rolls, 1775-1783, may not be this John Ross.  SAR P-281947 Qualifying Service: Road surveyor; contributor to local militia.

• Susanna Ogle McDonald: DAR A076374 Qualifying Service: Provided beef.

Notes:

• Bryan McDonald: Husband of Susanna Ogle. DAR believes his service was prior to 1775. SAR continues to list him as a Revolutionary Patriot P-240381.

• Andrew Alexander: SAR P-102265 lists service in the war and paid Supply Tax in 1782. DAR A001130: is concerned that there is multiple men of the same name in Augusta County. DAR has approved over 60 persons claiming him as a Revolutionary Patriot.
